Our clients, Zocalo Community Development’s RiverClay Condominiums have recently been honored as the FIRST LEED Certified Multi-family Condominium Development in the entire Rocky Mountain Region! With the sustainable trend flourishing in the architecture and design industries, many developers have stated their intention of creating a LEED-certified project, but have had difficulty seeing it come to fruition. Because of the costs and considerations that go into the rigorous LEED requirements, many developments aim high but fall short. RiverClay is certainly in the forefront of green design here in Denver, and even has the LEED plaque to prove it.

Way to go, guys!

Root Down is lovin’ the wonderful “Valentine’s Day” recommendation from 5280 Magazine and one of the hot spots to visit for Valentine’s Day brunch! We are enjoying this client so much because of all the many layers that the media can write about– the amazing food, funky décor, incredible and unique drinks, the food, the superior wait staff, and did we mention the food!

Quick think of something to make us stand out amongst all other Hotels this Valentine’s Day! Lu and Shelby to the rescue! We created a contest on Fox 31 News, Good Day Colorado, for the viewer who submitted the most “romantic” love story in order to win an over night Valentine’s Weekend Package at the historic Hotel Colorado – including dinner for 2! The segment was a success and generated many submissions. One that didn’t make it as the winner was such a tear-jerker, Hotel Colorado’s Management Company’s President, David Storm ended up giving away another weekend package to the very deserving entry!

The advantage of working with a publicist is that you can call them with a story that might not even be related to your business! Take Rachel Hultin, the creator of ByeByeBlueMustang.com – who is a “developer” client of ours who happened to have created a media frenzie – well – with a little bit of our help! Rachel asked her friends on Facebook to submit a Haiku as to whether they liked or disliked the Blue Mustang at DIA, hoping to start some interesting dialogue about the art piece. A little leak to our friends at Denver Daily News and Westword started the media storm which gained recognition from Channel 9, 7, KOA radio, CNN, and ultimately ended up on the Front Page of the WallStreet Journal on Sat. Feb. 7th, 2009! We love your spunk Rachel!

The word is getting out – – and Root Down is lovin’ it! We are so appreciative to all the food media who have endured the wait for Root Down to open – your comments, articles and visits have all been welcoming and overwhelming! Happy to see Rocky Mountain News Lori Midson suggesting Root Down as one of her recommendations for Restaurant Week! We love that!

How do you turn a tragic story of 30 young Hockey Players who where treated at a local Greeley hospital due to exposure to high levels of carbon monoxide, while at a Hockey Tournament, into a “positive” story? You hire the Stasko Agency to take action!

We helped the Renagade Parents Association get the word out to the media – – rounding up 5 News Stations (Channel 2, 4, 7, 9 and Fox 31) – to hear their story! It’s all about the kids and the parent’s determination to fix the problem and keep the rink open! Channel 4 stepped up to the plate after airing the first story and returned a week later to PAY IT FORWARD by giving the team $1,000 toward ice time and to help get the rink back open!

Hello Friends! The Stasko Agency is looking forward to the new year and all the possibilities of 2009! But, before we jump in with both feet…we want to leave you with a few highlights of an incredibly busy 2008:

March, 2008: The Stasko Agency joins the team of Interior Aqua Solutions (a distributor of Accents in Water) to help spread the news about their incredible interior water features.

April 2008: We provided some publicity services to the Urban Green Conference this past year. The conference included a Green Gallery, displaying architectural models of sustainable building concepts created by graduate students from the CU College of Architecture and Planning. These creative models gained a lot of interest from the television media! The winning project and recipient appeared on the Good Day Colorado Show.

June 2008: HUNI Hours, a monthly happy hour for neighbors and businesses to get to know each other, were in full force. This is the second year Lu has served at the Chairman of the Highland United Neighbors, Inc. (HUNI) Social Committee.

The top of Little Man Ice Cream was (oh so carefully) moved down Federal Blvd. – – big news maker of the day!

Denver’s first LEED-Silver multi-family residential development, RiverClay, celebrated an official launch party. The story was featured in Architecture & Design, Strategize Magazine and ULI’s MultiFamily Trends magazines.

July, 2008: Little Man Ice Cream opened, with lots of publicity, including a piece on Fox 31 and Sunday Morning with Channel 9! (July 3, 2008)

The Devereux Polo Cup was held in the Western Slopes and Hotel Colorado went undefeated yet again!

Our client, Mark Bulla, of Western Real Estate hosted the first auction of its’ kind in Colorado and auctioned off “new homes” priced in the millions. Rocky Mountain News ran a full page feature in the Business Section.

October 2008: The Colorado Business on Health held a conference at the Convention Center and Donna Marshall appeared on Fox’s Hot Box panel.

November 2008: The Hotel Colorado hosted a successful Jon Chandler CD Release Party.

A Special Thank You goes out to all of The Stasko Agency’s amazing clients in 2008!
